About this item Saint Kenneth, also known as Cainnech, was a gaelic abbot, monastic founder, priest, and missionary during the early medieval period. He is considered one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland and played a significant role in spreading Christianity throughout Ireland and to the Picts in Scotland. Saint Kenneth is renowned for his commentary on the Gospels, which was referred to as the Glas-Choinnigh or the Chain of Cainnech for many centuries. His feast day is celebrated on 11 October in the Roman Catholic Church and on either 1 or 14 August in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
